David Guetta scores his first No. 1 on Billboard’s Nielsen BDS-based Pop Songs radio airplay chart, as “Without You,” featuring Usher, rises 2-1.
The song marks the French DJ/producer/songwriter’s first leader on the list. He had previously peaked as high as No. 3 with “Sexy Chick,” featuring Akon, last year. It’s also the first No. 1 by a solo male for Capitol Records in the survey’s 19-year history.
“It’s amazing. My first time in the U.S. (with) a No. 1. It’s really exciting … everything is fantastic!,” Guetta beamed to Billboard.com on notching his first Pop Songs topper. “Finally dance music is happening in the U.S.!”
Usher earns his second Pop Songs No. 1 after reigning for three weeks with “Yeah!,” featuring Lil Jon and Ludacris, in 2004. He’d stopped just one spot short of the summit six times since then, most recently with “DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love,” featuring Pitbull, a year ago.
Usher’s ‘Live From London’ DVD officially releases on DVD & Blu-Ray today!
The concert was filmed in high definition at London’s O2 Arena in the spring of 2011 in support of his chart topping “Raymond V Raymond” album.
According to a statement surrounding the DVD: “It’s a spectacular show with amazing lighting, incredible staging, and stunning pyrotechnics. There are multiple costume changes and brilliant choreography which shed light on the story behind the songs in dramatic and ground breaking ways. Despite the epic scale, the charisma and talent of Usher and his music are what dominate the show.”
‘OMG Tour – Live From London’ will also include behind the scenes with Usher and his team as they put the O2 show together and a short piece about Usher’s New Look Foundation in London.
